Why Drunken Poetry?

Firstly, you don't need to be drunk, or otherwise intoxicated, to participate in drunkenpoetry.com. This is a loose and informal forum for exchanging verse and short creative writing. A place for traditional and non-traditional forms to be expressed.

That being said, the initial idea for Drunken Poetry sprang from repeated encounters with people who said that they always felt like writing when they got drunk. They had no place to share these meaderings of their mind. So, DP was born.

What are those keywords for?

Keywords are a way of categorizing or describing a contribution. They are used when someone searches for contributions. When you create a new contribution, add keywords that relate. These can be how you felt when writing it, the style of the writing or categories that you feel the contribution would fit into.

Some examples of keywords: poem, verse, story, limerick, life, love, adventure, depressing, happy, drinking, tequila, beer, food

Someone is harassing me with comments. What can I do?

If you are being harassed (flamed) by another member, we apologize for your discomforting experience. We do our best to monitor abuses on DP but we try not to step in and censor any expression unless it is absolutely necessary.

If you feel that a member is abusing their freedom of expression on DP please Contact Us. Please include your username, the offending member's username and the contribution(s) that contain the comments and we will address the situation.

What do these ratings mean?

Drunken Poetry members can rate any contribution from 1(poor) to 5(excellent). The average of all ratings for a contribution will be displayed something like this:

I can't rate any contributions.

You must be logged in to rate contributions. If you are logged in and still cannot rate contributions, that's an unexpected technical problem. In that case Contact Us and let us know what is going on.
